RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA - I feel there is a correlation between the heated days and wedding days. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we are based in San Diego and we are constantly spoiled with marine layers and perfectly weathered days. Whatever the case is, the sun is always there to greet us when we head up to perhaps the county that seems to love us the most from all the counties in Southern California, Riverside County. The county where Nalleli and Jason vowed their love for each other.
After a quick stop at Starbucks (product placement there, gimme my check Starbucks), sorry you gotta make money where you can. But I digress. Back to our story, The Lady Black Rider and I headed out to Fontana to meet one of the most graceful and beautiful people we have met in our adventures of doing wedding photography, Nalleli. Driving up the 15 north is not exactly a trip on the PCH. It has its charm if you love endless views of valleys, communities, and shopping malls. When there is no traffic, it's not that bad of a drive. Maybe it could have been the excitement of wanting to do these weddings. I always get excited, or anxious I can never tell doing with these weddings.
Whatever the case is, it makes the ride seem short.
We arrive at this beautiful huge house in Fontana and got greeted by a group of beautiful ladies in their silk robes. Very stylish. Then we got greeted by the biggest million-dollar smile which was glowing bigger than ever. It was Nalleli. Like always, before we began we chatted for a while, connect, laugh, pep talk, and go to work. Well, my wife did.
Left my wife, Lady Black Rider, with her and let her do her thing as I walked out of the home and headed to meet the blessed man who would be Nalleli's husband, Jason.
I didn't drive too far in that desert heat to get to Riverside where Jason lived. It was a cornered house on a street that had a cute little front yard. I stepped into a house where I was greeted by a party of men talking about video games and whatnot. It was tense, like normal. Men and cameras don't mix. I never understood why. I knew it would subside. In the meantime, I was greeted by Jason, A young good-looking dude with a baby face. He is very down-to-earth with a good head on his shoulders. We spoke a little to get the tension and nervousness down.
As they got themselves looking all pretty, my wife and I started getting the accessories and details of their outfits in display by taking advantage of the lighting and vegetation from the homes of both of the houses along with their outfits. Once done, we walked in on them getting ready for the ceremony. We will let the photos tell the story below.
The ceremony. This is the part of the day when two stories become one. My wife and I work to capture candidly the ceremony of these two lovers as they vow their lives to live for each other with love.
Wedding portraits. Where we take off our photojournalistic hats and put on our fine artist hats. With such a hot day and not but city all around and the bride wanted flowers in her portraits. What can an artist do? Well, thanks to Adobe, we can use AI to take out unwanted buildings, highways, and heck! the whole background and add whatever she dreamed about it. That's what we did.
Although, we did some fields with flowers, we were able to use those flowers to extend flower field to give it a more fuller field of flowers. We removed highways to give endless valleys. The only thing that didn't get altered are the emotions they had as they hold each other for the first time as husband and wife.
After a beautiful sessions along the 10 freeway, we arrived back to Nalleli's sibling's home where there awaited a gorgeously decorated reception with rustic feel and cute little details. It was very intimate and they had tacos. Tacos people! Which if you know us, this reception will automatically give a two thumbs up and make it memorable. Well that in the fact that this wedding was filled with the love that the guests had for Mr. and Mrs. Higuera and the love that these two, without a doubt, share between them too.
