The last senior/grad portrait session marked a turning point in my photography journey. I decided to break away from the cliché sessions of senior and graduate portraits and focus on sessions that allowed me the creative freedom I cherish. Exploring remote locations in the middle of nowhere, capturing subjects in long dresses and outfits that sparked dreamlike sequences in my mind—this was my vision.
But then, I met Eric...
This striking individual made me reconsider my approach to these sessions. Perhaps they didn't have to be cliché after all. Maybe there was genuine artistic value waiting to be uncovered. I encountered Eric on the UCSD campus. Dressed in a sharp grey suit and possessing chiseled looks, he effortlessly commanded the camera's attention. It made me forget that this was supposed to be a graduate portrait session. Photographing him was an absolute delight.
Regrettably, this session marked my farewell to senior/graduate sessions. Not all of them could deliver the way Eric did. However, I do hope that offering solo portraiture sessions will be an excellent alternative for customers seeking portraits with a more artistic flair.
