ENCINITAS, CARLSBAD & SAN MARCOS, CA - Sometimes, as photographers, and at least in my case, we are always looking for places to photograph. We are constantly scouting. Locations are crucial to the imagery we create. The year 2023 brought a super bloom that kept me creatively thirsty to photograph in specific spots I had discovered during my daily errands.
Recently, I purchased a dress from one of my brides, Daisy, which she had worn for a shoot I did with her. Combining that dress with the abundant flower blooms triggered me to pay homage to one of my favorite photographers in the world, Rosie Hardy. For those who aren't familiar with her, she's an amazing artist and photographer from the United Kingdom, whom I knew from my Flickr days. I've always been captivated by her imaginative and creative images that evoke a fairytale vibe. She became so popular that her work was even featured on the cover of Maroon 5's 'Hands All Over.' Yes, that's her on the cover.
I got in touch with a friend of mine whom I've been shooting with recently, Yaneli. I've been wanting to photograph with her since our last shoot didn't end well, due to a physical assault by some crazy person. But that story is for another day. We traveled to San Marcos, Encinitas, and Carlsbad to satisfy my imagination and create these incredible images that I'm proud of. Yaneli was fantastic in front of the camera. I couldn't have asked for a better person to model for this shoot than her. But I'll let you all be the judge of that.
