My best friend, Teo, has been part of so many of those moments. From standing beside me on my wedding day to walking through life as a friend, co-worker, and spiritual partner—he’s always been there.

Not long ago, he married Laia in a private ceremony in France. Intimate. Intentional. True to who they are.

When they returned to California, I offered them something they didn’t have—wedding portraits that could reflect their story.

Rain moved in and out, forcing us to pause, adapt, and lean into the unknown. Then something unexpected happened—my camera began to fail. The lens blade wouldn’t retract, and after every shot, I had to reset it manually.

In a moment like that, you have two choices: stop… or keep creating.

We kept going.

And what came from it was something different—images shaped by imperfection. Frames that felt raw, unfiltered, and alive. The kind of images you don’t plan—you experience.

I fell in love with it.

So did Laia.

Teo, as always, was simply present—enjoying every second.
