BORREGO SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA - "Something different," said Aiyana. Those words stuck with me when we began planning her family session. She wanted the shoot to be somewhere she hadn't been before. She's photographed her family at the beach, in the city, forests, and studios. What else was left? The underappreciated desert scene.
We headed out and met at the only restaurant for miles around the area, Josie's Hideout in Santa Ysabel. From there, we drove 20 more minutes to a secret spot in the desert.
Once we arrived, I had the pleasure of meeting the Mixon family. It was a journey to get here, but it was worth it. We started photographing their little tribe and captured so many cute moments between them. They were a joy to photograph, not to mention they were all young and good-looking. All in all, it was a blast creating some great images for them to display on their walls.
