FALLBROOK, CALIFORNIA - Kayla & Jansen Wedding! Oh, how I longed for this wedding day ever since I photographed their engagement session back in August of 2023! Both of them were so cool and so easy to photograph, I knew their wedding would be special simply because of who they are. The day did not disappoint. We were ready to do their wedding photography!
PRE CEREMONY
The morning we arrived for their wedding, the sky was perfect. Not a cloud in sight. It was ideal. We arrived at the property that belongs to Jansen's father—a large property in Fallbrook, big enough to produce agriculture and host a beautiful wedding. There was nothing rustic about the home. In fact, this home could have easily been built in La Jolla or Laguna Beach with its beautiful pool and an amazing view from the kitchen.
We were led down a stairway to the room where Kayla was getting ready. The room was cramped with smiling bridesmaids preparing for the day, while Kayla was tucked into the bathroom, where her makeup artist was working her magic. Meanwhile, Jansen was elsewhere gathering last-minute details for the wedding. I took that time to scope out the property and find local spots for wedding portraits while Maria captured the moments happening with Kayla and her bridesmaids. Eventually, Jansen arrived with his crew to get ready and have some personal moments of their own.
CEREMONY
The anticipation was high as the wedding was about to begin—a ceremony hosted by Kayla’s brother. That in itself was so sweet. It wasn’t a sermon; it was simple and heartfelt. There were moments of laughter, tearful exchanges, and even some stubborn butterflies that refused to leave the box. Anti-climactic butterflies are the worst! Nevertheless, the ceremony was beautiful, overlooking the valley.
WEDDING PORTRAITS
After spending quite a bit of time photographing the bridal party and family, we headed to the location for the wedding portraits. Not to shoot at the newlyweds, of course, but I was reminded of why we always recommend photographing the couple’s portraits first. Doing this helps save time and capture their energy before it fades. Fortunately for us, we were able to photograph them even after the long session with the bridal party.
Kayla and Jansen still managed to give us romantic, intimate moments, despite being hungry. Fortunately, they didn’t get hangry! We had to cut the session a bit short before reaching that point. Still, we captured some amazing moments that truly reflected their connection.
RECEPTION
When we arrived at the reception, we were greeted by the smell of pizzas baking in the oven and a group of friends and family eagerly welcoming the newlyweds. The entire afternoon and evening were filled with joy and memorable moments. Kayla and Jansen’s crew definitely know how to party! There were so many funny and touching moments throughout the night.
These two have truly touched our hearts, and knowing them as we do now, we’re confident that their love will be the beginning of something beautiful for generations to come. Congrats, Kayla and Jansen! Let the adventure never end.
